Few things can match the beauty of a Van Gogh painting, but the Bugaboo Bee3 stroller is one of them, as its canopy has one of the brilliant Dutch Post-Impresionist painter’s works printed on it.
In a world where the majority of strollers are so boringly monochrome, Bugaboo has decided to create one with an artistic twist. One of the special editions of the Bee3 stroller made by them was created in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. There aren’t many things that could’ve resulted from such a collaboration, and if you answered “a Van Gogh stroller,” then you are perfectly right. Mind you, this is not the first time Bugaboo makes a creative partnership, as pop artist Andy Warhol, fashion house Missoni, and designer Marc Jacobs have also contributed to some of the company’s fantastically looking products. The sun canopy of this unique stroller has the painter’s “Almond Blossom” painted on it, and the effect is unbelievable.
The stroller looks as if the painting’s canvas was glued to it, but upon a closer inspection, one can notice that the canopy has in fact a silk look and feel. On top of that, the material it is made from is water-repellent and machine washable, something that Bugaboo customers should be familiar with. This means not only that the canopy is extremely easy to clean, but also that there won’t be any problems if it starts raining while walking the baby.
Dutch design company Bugaboo, much like their national painter, proved with this limited edition stroller that it pays great attention to detail. The chassis is coated in green, and along with the faux-leather handle is supposed to bring painted trees to mind, while the Petrol Blue seat fabric and bassinet will definitely make some think of Van Gogh’s blue sky.
The Bugaboo Bee3 Van Gogh stroller is currently available for $869, which might sound like an incredibly steep price, but you have to take several aspects into consideration before jumping to such conclusions. First of all, this is an exquisitely designed stroller, and secondly, it’s very durable. So durable, in fact, that you may want to pass it on to other expecting parents when your baby grows out of it. Bear in mind that this is, after all, a luxury stroller, so it was created with a specific audience in mind.
