In the past, parents or grandparents had to rock babies on their knees to fall asleep. Luckily for us, things got simpler and now babies can be rocked to sleep by an automated machine.
While I’m firmly convinced that parents should spend as much time as possible with their parents, it’s not wrong to place the baby in the care of a machine, just to catch a breath. Infants should be just as fine in a rocking seat as the nuna LEAF as in the arms of a parent. The motion is usually enough for making them sleepy, so it shouldn’t matter that much how that motion is generated.
LEAF resembles both in design and functionality a real leaf that floats in the breeze. That motion is replicated quite accurately by the device. Unfortunately, when left unassisted, the motion only lasts for 2 minutes, so this is quite far from being a perpetuum mobile. Luckily for us, the device doesn’t use any batteries or cords. On top of that, nuna LEAF is extremely quiet, as it doesn’t produce any noises or buzzes. That’s beneficial both for the baby and the parent.
As seen in the following picture, nuna LEAF can accommodate more than just babies. The seat is perfect for children from birth up to 60 kilos. Apparently, the manufacturer refrained from setting an age limit, as some babies develop faster than others and reach that weight at an earlier age.
In terms of accessories, nuna LEAF comes with:
- Toy bar
- Insect net attached to canopy
Each of these is available in two colors, even though the seat itself comes in 10 different colors that could match any environment. Regardless of the color, nuna LEAF is going to be perfect for both napping and playing.
As with other nuna products, using this one is very intuitive. Despite all that, nuna LEAF has a user’s manual that should make using this rocking baby seat an even easier experience.
Since it can be used for so many years, parents will be able to breathe relaxed for a long period of times. nuna LEAF will represent a crashing place for babies and pre-school kids, alike, and there’s no doubt that all of them will feel comfortable in it.
